Kirti, Salata, Skupljak and Veber made strong impressions at the Nations Women’s Cup on Day1

The 15^th edition of the Nations Women’s Cup delivered excellent battles in the opening day of the traditional event in Sombor.

The Nations Women’s Cup was launched in 2012 and since then several of the top female stars competed in this Serbian event during these years.

Serbia’s Asja Popov is still a schoolgirl talent at the U15 age group and she had a control over Romania’s Diana Elisa Liber on Day1. The Serbian talent won all of the three rounds on the judges’ scorecards and she made a strong impression in Sombor.

Lea Kirti is one of the experienced Serbian U17 junior boxers who had enough international experience to beat her teammate, Nina Nikolic at the 57kg weight category.

The level of the U19 youth boxers is high in Serbia and their Anja Salata amazed in the opening day of the Nations Women’s Cup. She had a tough rival, Lejla Sejdi, who came from a boxing family, but Salata managed to land the better punches on their meeting at the 60kg.

Croatia’s Lorena Horvat earned already European medals during her successful career and she joined the youth age group only this month. The 16-year-old Croatian walked over to the final of the women’s youth 70kg weight class following her opponent, Serbia’s Tatjana Stanivuk was not able to box against her on Day1.

Croatia’s Lana Skupljak has been preparing hard to the main international championships with full speed and she showed her impressive strength in Sombor. The young Croatian youth boxer stopped Romania’s Karina Petrisor with heavy punches and the referee confirmed her RSC victory.

Slovenia has some excellent talents in all age groups and their female sensation, Naca Nikolov Veber won the last bout of the first competition day, she overwhelmed Serbia’s Nedeljka Petrovic at the elite 65kg.
