Figueroa stops Ball in round twelve, wins WBA World title

Brandon Figueroa (27-2-1, 20 KOs) is the new WBA World featherweight champion. Figueroa on Saturday night in Liverpool dethroned Nick Ball (23-1-1). Figueroa stopped Ball in round twelve.

He dropped the local favorite twice in round twelve. Figueroa was ahead on points on scorecards of two judges (106:103) and Ball was ahead on scorecard of one judge (107:102).

For Ball was first loss in his professional boxing career.
