Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Serbia, Cuba and Romania bagged gold medals in the men’s finals at the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament
Kazakhstan became the best nations in the men’s finals at the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament in Budva but Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Serbia, Cuba, Ukraine and Romania also earned titles in Montenegro’s boxing city.
Kazakhstan’s super talented Daniyar Akbissenov knew his neighbouring opponent well enough, Kyrgyzstan’s Umar Orusbayev and he had the perfect game plan to take the title of the 60kg in Budva.
Kazakhstan’s Adil Askanbay delivered a surprise success in the eighth day of boxing in Budva when he defeated his teammate, the more experienced Nurkhan Kumarbekov in the final of the men’s 50kg.
Kazakhstan’s next sensation, Akzhurek Kalabay had a tough semi-final contest in Budva but after that he had an emerging performance against Austria’s ex-Ukrainian Ivan Bezuhlyi to win the title of the busy 65kg.
Bulgaria’s Maksim Kirillov eliminated one of the best Cuban youth boxers in Budva and he had the tough performance also in the semi-finals. The Bulgarian was not enough fresh in the final against Azerbaijan’s Rza Rzayev and finally he claimed a silver medal at the 70kg.
Bulgaria’s next finalist, Yanko Iliev had the strong performance against Serbia’s Filip Stanojevic and he succeeded at the 55kg final. The next Serbian, Djordje Djoric invested a lot of efforts to beat Ukraine’s Hleb Ivanchuk to win the title of the 80kg.
Cuba’s Raul Daniel Castillo was defeated by Ukraine’s Tymur Karaivan in the final of the 75kg which was the next unexpected result in Budva. The second Cuban finalist, Julio Cesar Chibos dominated his 85kg final against Azerbaijan’s Heydar Azmammadov and the referee stopped the unequal contest in the second round.
Ukraine’s Vladyslav Naumenko had the control in all of the three rounds to beat Sweden’s Moses Bazzi at the 90kg with a top performance. Romania’s super heavyweight talent, the European medallist Denis Cucu was exceptional in the entire Adriatic Pearl and he had a strong final against Kazakhstan’s Aidamir Sauytbek.
