Cicko and Vicenik were the Czech heroes in Budva during the evening session
The boxers from the Czech Republic managed two important victories on the fifth session of the European U15 Boxing Championships in Budva.
Georgia’s Tornike Simonishvili won the first bout of the evening session against Estonia’s Stas Lapshin at the 40kg weight class
Romania’s Cristi Casu was confident from the first seconds against Hungary’s Noel Farkas and he joined the quarter-finals at the 40kg. Poland’s Michal Jaworski worked a lot against Turkey’s Ali Cinar Urek and he eliminated one of the medal favourites in Budva.
Scotland’s Ethan Munro began boxing at the age of 7 and he had the experience to win a crucial battle against Greece’s Konstantinos Chasampalis. Azerbaijan’s Babak Abdullayev and Bulgaria’s Zdravko Kolev controlled their contests well enough in the next 40kg bouts.
David Horvat was taller than Kayden Agostinho and despite the English efforts in the third, Horvat won their tough bout at the 40kg.
Italy’s Vincenzo Viola had an excellent Bornemissza Memorial in Hungary but Germany’s Ian Aswaldt was not an ideal first opponent. After two equal rounds, the Italian had a slightly better finish to win this bout.
Azerbaijan’s Mahammad Kazimzadeh won the first and second rounds against Lithuania’s Viktor Bogdevic and he had the advantage three out of the five scorecards. The Lithuanian did not give up this 46kg fight and he turned back their contest.
Another Baltic boxer, Kirils Volosovs controlled all of the three rounds against Poland’s Jan Kilik and he secured his place in the last eight.
Czech Republic’s Jan Cicko destroyed North Macedonia’s Mihail Avramovski at the 46kg before Ukraine’s No.1, Yevhenii Kovach dominated his 50kg bout.
Tobias Vicenik became the next Czech winner, he eliminated one of the favourites at the 50kg, Ireland’s Franky Mooney.
