Ruby White is the new Golden Girl but Mbata, Kasumi and Zidani also won important awards in Boras

England’s sensation, the 18-year-old Ruby White became the Golden Girl for the first time but Patricia Mbata, Albina Kasumi and Amina Zidani also won awards 16^th Golden Girl Box Cup in Boras, Sweden.

Finland’s Laura Myllymaeki won two great contests in the previous part and she was excellent in the final against Mia Bradshaw of England therefore she earned the first elite title in Boras.

Ruby White eliminated Ireland’s Katie O’Keefe in a sensational bout and the U19 World Champion landed quick punches to catch Germany’s Georgiana Podaru. The 18-year-old star controlled the first and second rounds and she decided their 51kg final with heavy punches in the third.

Germany’s Assia El-Fachtali was patient in the first round of the final against England’s Amelia Kennedy and she tried to use her speedy attacks with a great finish to win the title of the elite 54kg weight class.

Finland’s Teresa Maekinen was titleholder and the main favourite of her weight class but Germany’s 22-year-old Albina Kasumi used her strength and speed well enough to make a surprise success in this 57kg final.

Denmark’s Alice Bennedbaek is a powerful puncher and she proved her strength against Sweden’s Victoria Ohman in a bout which was ended within less than three minutes by referee stopped the contest.

France’s Amina Zidani gave birth to her baby and she returned to the competitions in this event but she has long term goals. The European Games winner used her distance well to beat Italy’s Simona Monteverdi in the first group of the 65kg.

Denmark’s Caroline Lauenborg controlled the first round against England’s Amelia Barker and the referee counted her opponent twice in the second. Despite Barker’s great finish in the third round, the Danish was able to keep the victory in the second group of the 65kg.

Germany’s Jule Woche won the third group at the busy 65kg before Nigeria’s Olympian Patricia Mbata made the show in the first final of the 70kg with her precise attacks and brilliant style of boxing.
