Ukraine, Spain, Switzerland, England, Portugal, France and Belgium all won top finals at the well-organized Algarve Box Cup

A fantastic boxing event, the Algarve Box Cup took place in Portugal where three competition days were on the official agenda.

Portugal arranged several events in 2025, the Portimao Box Cup, the Odivelas Cup, the Porto Cup and the Braga Open Tournament.

Spain’s Adriana Munoz made a history for her country when she claimed a gold medal at the European U15 Championships in Budva. The Spaniard moved up to the U17 junior age group this January and she won the Algarve Box Cup at the 50kg.

Ukraine’s Uliana Ovsepian had several international experience before the Algarve Box Cup and she proved her best against Italy’s Marta Posca to take the title of the women’s 54kg among the U19 boxers.

Switzerland’s Anais Pfaff was prepared well to the Algarve Box Cup and she defeated Portugal’s Sofia Almeida to take the title of the elite 54kg. Her teammate, Cris Soares is another Swiss female talent who had a tight success over a local boxer, Rebecca Brunido Guimaraes.

Two English girls marched to the finals of the elite 65kg weight class in Portugal where Charlotte Spencer was able to beat Amelia Barker unanimously.

Juliana Santos is Portugal’s top female talent who had excellent international results already in 2025 and the teenager was highly competitive against a more experienced Irish boxer, Shauna Kearney at the women’s 75kg.

Portugal’s Leandro Almeida was too quick for his teammate, Lenick Fernandes and earned the gold medal at the men’s 50kg, but David Pegado (65kg), Belgium’s Hornel Ayetivi (70kg) and France’s Youssouf Dabo (75kg) are all impressed in the finals.

Belgium’s Noa Hadjit, the former Youth World bronze medallist, had a hard battle over England’s Dominic Owoo but she succeeded in their 85kg final, before Ricky Amoussou defeated Norway’s Muslim Yusupov at the 90kg.
