Zhanibek Alimkhanuly set to face Erislandy Lara in a unification bout

Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs) is set to face Cuban Erislandy Lara (31-3-3, 18 KOs) in a unification bout for three middleweight world titles, “Boxing Scene” reports.

Alimkhanuly holds WBO and IBF World title belts, and Lara holds WBA World title belt.

The three-belt unification at 160lbs “is going to happen,” an official connected to the bout between WBO and IBF champion Janibek Alimkhanuly and WBA champion Erislandy Lara told BoxingScene Monday.

Lara last fought in September las year, stopping Danny Garcia in round nine.

Alimkhanuly defended the titles in May this year stopping Anauel Ngamissengue in round five.
